Want The Best, Undiscovered Software Engineers?

Looking at the Best Code

Over 10,000 heavily used open source projects in JavaScript, Ruby, Python, C++, Java, Go, iOS and Android have been analyzed to find the best engineers. These engineers have their code powering the majority of the world's software. You can trust that they can do the job.

Ranked By AI

Gitlead scores every engineer on every programming language and technology that is commonly used. The score tracks contributions, programming language and technology knowledge and other criteria. And when we mean score we commit archeology on the code to make sure they we're lying.

FAQ

Which Open Source Projects Do You Check?

We have taken the best projects from each programming community: Android, C++, Data Science, DevOps, Functional, Go, Java, Machine Learning, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby, Web, .NET, iOS. and found the most widely used and popular libraries based on multiple criteria for a successful project including references, ranking, stars, and other components. We are always watching for new popular projects and add them to our search.

What is a Gitlead Score?

The Gitlead score is the rank we give every open source developer who is in our system. We measure various criteria such as:
  • programming languages used
  • amount of contributed code
  • amount of active code
  • projects contributed
This score gives a good overview of the kind of engineers you can expect. Further, there are many passive contributors to open source code. People who contribute when they find something that is incorrect or a feature that they need. We believe our score also takes this into account as being a passive contributor is not necessarily a bad thing.

What is a Good Score

This score is between 0 and 100. A person with a 100 is an expert while a person with a 0 hasn't used the language at all. Most people are somewhere in between. But the higher the score, the greater the confidence you can have in their ability.

Why use this when I can just look at profiles?

Github, BitBucket, and other developer sites don't represent a full picture of the code that developers write. Most code is not open sourced by engineers. Companies and organizations release the code. So if a profile looks empty, you might skip it, but an engineer may be incredibly talented.

How does Gitlead work?

You can filter by the different languages and technologies that you are interested in such as Ruby, Python, Web, DevOps, etc. From there you can filter further by the different languages finding engineers that fit your criteria. We want to surface engineers you haven't considered and may want to reach out.
